A DREAM PLAY

North Dakota State University

(performance)

Zach Christensen gave some of the most memorable performances, offering heart and soul in every line delivered.
While the play deliberately goes against the norms of theatre, the result is nothing short of spectacular.

ASSASSINATION OF FERDINAND

Jackdonkey Productions

(direction)

Zach Christensen assures us from the opening voice over that he understands how to set the tone and proves over the next 90 minutes that he can maintain it.
I found the show enormously entertaining, it’s a funny script that is only enhanced by strong direction and fantastic and playful cast.

PERFECT ARRANGEMENT

Theatre in the Round

(performance)

(2022 Twin Cities Theatre Favorites)  Minneapolis' oldest theater Theatre in the Round had another strong year, my favorite of which was the period dramedy Perfect Arrangement
Everyone in the cast, especially the four actors playing the couples, plays their roles well, both the comedy and the drama sides.

DOCK WORK

Jackdonkey Productions

(direction)

This is definitely unlike anything else I've seen at Fringe. An experimental devised work like this is exactly what Fringe is for.
It's a timely, powerful, and affecting show...

INTO THE WOODS

North Dakota State University

(performance)

(Standout Songs) Zach Christensen, playing the Wolf, provided a short but captivating performance. He delivered an eerie and convincing duet with Jensen’s Little Red Riding Hood called “Hello, Little Girl.”

A DRUG PLAY

Jackdonkey Productions

(direction)

It does begin with extensive commentary on the problems and failures of the drug war. But it soon becomes a movement expression of the struggles and pains of addiction, very tightly and admirably performed, it's left pretty much to the interpretation of the person watching.
